Ho ho ho, welcome to this extra special festive Dog Life Drawing class with artist Cai Burton at The Crafty Egg, Fishponds Road.
Christmas is all around us and our fluffy models are the gifts that keep on giving. You’re probably here because you either love drawing or you love dogs, and if that’s the case, then this might just be the perfect event for you.
It’s the perfect jolly outing for Christmas work parties, festive get-togethers, or as a gift like no other for your secret santa. Join this art class with a difference and get to know your fluffy models with a tail who just love scratches, pets and treats.
Just like presents under the tree, every Christmas class features multiple dogs of all shapes and sizes - expect snorting flat faces, long legs, tight curls and waggy tails. Try to keep up with the dogs movements and capture a variety of sketches, or spend longer on timed exercises led by artist Cai Burton.
This class will be fun and relaxed with the opportunity to move around and see different dogs. Get to know the owners and play with the pups during the break. Share your work afterwards and see how other artists of all skill levels capture these furry friends.
Cai will guide you through the session, introducing you to the class with structured warm ups and moving you around the space. Despite this, the class is still relaxed with the opportunity to move around as you see fit.
Drinks will be available from the bar and chilled music will help set the tone.
On the day
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to get checked in and settled.
Limited on-street parking is available.
Please bring your own art supplies. Limited equipment is available to borrow including A3 paper & boards, pens and pencils.
As a festive add-on, Christmas card supplies are available to purchase with your ticket. Why not share your drawings and bring some delightfully doggie Christmas cheer to your favourite humans.
Please check with the owner before interacting with the dogs. Their welfare is important, so anyone acting inappropriately will be removed.
There will be a 10-15 minute break halfway.

I'm always looking for new models, so if you would like to bring a dog of your own, please email me on [email protected]. Please do not bring your own dog to a session unless it is a service dog.
