About this Event
Join Cleveland photographer Gabe Wasylko for a spring afternoon chasing one of the year's most fleeting subjects: the cherry blossoms of the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath.
Cherry blossoms and the historic towpath make for a stunning combination. The soft pink petals set against the canal’s industrial heritage and old lock structures highlight the beauty of the trail. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting out, this walk is designed to help you see the landscape through a new lens. Gabe will share his approach to composition, light, and finding the shot that captures the true essence of the Towpath.
What to Expect:
- A guided walk along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath.
- Creative tips on framing structures with organic spring textures.
- The opportunity to capture the beauty of the cherry blossoms before they are gone.
All experience levels are welcome – Come ready to slow down, look up, and embrace the softness of spring! 🌸
👟What to bring: Whether you're shooting landscapes, detailed shots of blooms, reflections in the water, there's a frame waiting around every bend. We recommend bringing a 24-70mm lens if you have one -- it's the sweet spot for this kind of walk, giving you wide establishing shots of the trail and tight detail shots of individual blossoms without ever having to swap glass.
Also bring: Comfortable walking shoes, lightweight gear, and a creative eye.
