Chariot Festival of India - Rath YatraRatha-yatra, or the Festival of Chariots, is a joyous event celebrated for thousands of years in the Indian holy city of Jagannatha Puri, and more recently in cities around the world such as streets of London, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue.
Another name for Krishna, Jagannatha refers to the ecstatic form of the Lord with large eyes and rugged features who is carried on a gigantic chariot during this festival (and worshiped in an ancient temple at the center of Jagannath Puri.)
Perth festival will have dance, parades around Forrest Place with an opportunity to also pull the Chariot, Kirtan Meditation, Live Music performances, Vegan/Vegetarian food, Spiritual Books & Gift Shop*, Henna Art, Face Painting & more!
Everyone is welcome to this FREE family friendly, fun and smoking/drinking free event.
All activities and food are also free and for everyone.

Forrest Place is conveniently located near Perth Busport and Perth Underground Train station. You can catch a train or bus from anywhere in Perth to come to Perth CBD and walk over to Forrest Place.
