About this Event
Our bodies are vibrating with sound and contain different energy centers (chakras) that correspond to different physical and psychological systems. Chakras can become blocked, stagnant, overactive, or out of alignment with other ones. Sound healing retunes our cells, balances our chakras, and restores us to health so we can vibrate at a more optimal frequency.
In this chakra sound bath, we will tune our bodies from root to crown. We will begin with an active chakra sound meditation where we open our own chakras with bija mantras and sound to feel our own vibrations and healing power of our own voices before going into the passive sound bath where I start with shamanic buffalo drumming to connect with lower bass frequencies to induce the theta brain wave, which gives clarity, calm and increased creativity. Esraj is a beautiful, mournful stringed instrument from India that is great for opening the 2nd chakra. Didgeridoo is an earthy, low frequency with many overtones that is particularly helpful for breaking up energy blocks. I play it over your heart chakra. Then I often bring in Native style flutes and drone flutes. hand pans, and Tibetan bowls, and bells to help open the higher chakras. Throughout the sound healing, I use my voice to call in healing through Sanskrit mantra and prayers, spirituals, shamanic chanting, and angelic singing.
You often leave a session feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed, connected to your chakras, body, heart, mind, and soul. You may feel lighter and that you released something. Painful knots might break open as energy starts to flow through stuck places. Your whole body may vibrate and tingle.
This workshop is for those of any experience level. Beginners to sound healing practices and experienced practitioners alike are all welcome. Wear comfortable clothes. Please bring a blanket (or warm clothes) and a yoga mat. Limited yoga props such as mats and blankets are available for use. Water is good too!
