An evening celebrating the Bhati Family's legacy and cultural connectionAs the day turns to evening, this special gathering will bring together students, staff, and community members in a space of cultural connection, reflection, and generosity.
At its heart are the stories: Bhati Family India Travel Grant recipients sharing how study and travel in India shaped their perspectives and future paths; the founders of Café Stepping Stone reflecting on the challenges and triumphs of building a social enterprise that supports migrant women and on the enduring legacy of the Bhati Family India Travel Grant, inspiring the next generation of giving.
Through food, poetry, storytelling, and shared experiences, the event will celebrate the resilience, creativity, and successes born from cultural adaptation. It is an invitation to savour voices and moments that remind us how generosity travels across borders, and how shared stories help shape stronger, more connected communities.
This event, hosted by the ANU School of Culture, History & Language's annual flagship festival Immersia, is in collaboration with Café Stepping Stone and the ANU Gender Institute.
