About this Event
Centering Lived Experience: Compassionate Approaches to Crisis, Risk, and Recovery is a full-day, interactive training hosted by Promise Resource Network (PRN) on May 15, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 310 N Harrington St, Raleigh, NC. This recovery-focused event will explore dignity of risk, person-centered crisis planning and communication, harm reduction, and understanding suicidal thoughts through the lens of lived experience. Participants will gain practical strategies for supporting autonomy, strengthening crisis response, and centering recovery in real-world practice.
Promise Resource Network is a peer-led nonprofit that uses the wisdom of lived recovery experience to inspire hope, advance healing, and support people navigating trauma, mental health, and substance use challenges. PRN’s expertise includes peer support, recovery-focused training, harm reduction, and person-centered approaches that elevate lived experience as a source of knowledge and leadership. TAC and UNC are partnering organizations for this event.
