About this Event
Investigate the basics for assessing building performance and learn how the house operates as a system. This workshop will cover how to assess building performance, providing the foundation for completing high-quality energy retrofit work.
Participants begin by identifying the principles behind air, heat, and moisture flow, recognizing the foundational knowledge for performing home energy audits, and explaining the “what and why” of air sealing, insulation, and other common measures to enhance building durability and occupant well-being.
An online learning module, Building Basics, will also be available to participants.
The combined information from the online and in person components will enable participants to prepare for BPI’s Building Science Principles exam and earn the Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate of Knowledge, which is linked here.
Workshop participants at any level of experience will benefit from the foundational knowledge provided to effectively progress in the field of home performance and weatherization.
