About this Event

A thrilling new novel from the bestselling sensation Catriona Ward, Nowhere Burning is a modern take on Peter Pan and lost children. We meet Riley and Oliver, orphaned siblings who escape an abusive relative and run away to Nowhere, the former home of a deceased celebrity with a dark past. Now, the land is ruled by a gang of missing children who protect and ‘feed’ it, performing rituals, building defences and worshipping what has become a sanctuary to them. When the children turn against Riley for murdering one of their own, she finds herself caught in a fight between life and death and the ghosts of Nowhere.

Catriona Ward was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the US, Kenya, Madagascar, Yemen, and Morocco. She is the bestselling author of Looking Glass Sound, Sundial and The Last House on Needless Street, which was both a Richard and Judy Book Club and BBC2 Between the Covers Book Club pick. Her first novel, Rawblood won the August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel. She won again in 2018 for Little Eve, which also won the prestigious Shirley Jackson Award. The Last House on Needless Street won the August Derleth Award in 2022, making Ward the only woman to win the prize three times.

The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine.
