About this Event
Cardboard Island is the new feature film from Rugby-Otis Productions
After accidentally electrocuting himself with a toaster, a grieving young man becomes stranded in the afterlife's in-between, where he befriends a talking puppet, and must choose between finding his way back to the living or finally letting himself be loved.
It starts as a quiet drama. Then it doesn't. By the time lasers are being shot from guitars at a jungle colosseum, you either understand completely or you've already called it your new favorite movie. (Hopefully both.)
Cardboard Island is about the things we inherit from our family, the time we waste being afraid, and the grace of loving someone even when it's too late - and finding out it isn't.
It's weird and warm and genuinely unlike anything else you'll see this year.
What to expect
A full feature film screening followed by a casual conversation with the writers, director, and crew. Hear about how the film was made, what it was like to shoot, and the next steps.
This is a private, invite-only advance screening — not a public release. Seating is limited.
Who should come
Indie film fans. People who loved Eternal Sunshine. Anyone who's ever lost someone. Fans of Styx. People who want to say "I saw it first."
