Capturing Twilight in Pastel with Kris Woodward

Capture the quiet beauty of dusk in this three‑hour pastel workshop. Designed for both beginners and intermediate artists, this class offers a hands-on chance to explore soft pastel while observing the subtle shifts in color and light that define an evening sky. Kris will guide you through blocking in the broad shapes of the sky and landscape, then show you how to build up layers to create glowing clouds, radiant sunsets, and the soft transition from day to night. You’ll experiment with blending, scumbling, feathering, and other techniques to achieve smooth gradients and atmospheric effects. This is a calming, color‑rich workshop perfect for anyone who loves the magic of twilight. Supplies are not included in the workshop fee. A PDF supply list is available in the workshop description.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
