About this Event
Borough Market has been in the London Bridge area for over a 1,000 years and on its present site since 1756. During the day we will aim to capture the life, hustle and bustle of this food market. Through our drawings and paintings we will express what we see in paint, pencil and charcoal.
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
John Dobbs works mainly in oils, either direct from life or from drawings. He trained as a Draughtsman in electrical engineering before becoming a full time artist in 2003. He was awarded the NEAC Drawing Scholarship in 2012, and was elected a member of the NEAC in 2015. He was also elected a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 2019, having shown with them for the past three years. He has shown with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters since 2010 and has shown with the Royal British Artists. He has also previously exhibited in The Discerning Eye and Lynn Painter Stainers Prize.
COST
£80 (including booking fee*) for the day
There is a 10% discount for Friends of the New English and full-time students with an appropriate student number booking online. If you are a student you will be asked to provide your Student ID at the workshop. If you are eligible for a discount please contact us stating which discount you are eligible for and you will be emailed a special code to use when booking your tickets.

WHAT TO BRING
- Pencils, charcoal, sketchbooks, painting equipment (oil, acrylic or watercolour, bring your own choice of colours).
- A selection of boards or small canvases to work on.
- A light sketching easel / stool would be useful
