About this Event
Canto Pride is a theatrical variety show that celebrates all things Cantonese. It is performed and produced by members of San Francisco's Cantonese community. English subtitles will be available so that more people may enjoy the richness and complexity of the Cantonese culture.
Canto Pride features the works of Hong Kong playwright Candace Chong and Macau playwright Yip Hong Sing.
It also pays tribute to Caridad Amaran, the last Chinese opera diva of Cuba.
Classical poetry, contemporary rap and tongue twisters are all part of the fun!
Canto Pride is created and produced by Clara Hsu and Mimi Mok. It is directed by Cruz Chan.
It is a production of Clarion Performing Arts Center.
驕驕廣東話是一場粵語綜藝戲劇表演, 由舊金山粵語社區成員表演和製作, 並設有英文字幕, 以便更多觀眾可以享受豐富的粵語文化。
驕驕廣東話會演出香港劇作家莊梅岩和澳門劇作家葉康成的作品,
也向古巴最後一位粵劇花旦何秋蘭致敬。
古詩、現代的說唱和繞口令都是有趣節目的一部分！
