About this Event
Join us for the launch of the next in the series of video resources designed specifically for parent carers on Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). Developed by the South Glos Educational Psychology team in collaboration with South Glos Parent Carers (SGPC).
The videos shown in this session will focus on your wellbeing as a parent carer and on helping you to support your child or young person to manage their own emotions.
At this relaxed in-person event, you’ll have the chance to watch two of the videos in the series and meet the SGPC team.
It’s a friendly, supportive opportunity to gain information, and meet other parent carers.
We understand that some of you may have children and young people currently not in education who may need to attend with you. Please book a ‘child ticket’ for them alongside your own ticket.
We would ask that you bring along means of entertaining your child or young person, to help both you and your fellow parent carers to achieve the most from the day. We know that it may be necessary for you and your young ones to take a moment away from the event and the café at StMichael’s and the play area next to the community centre offer you this opportunity.
There is free on street parking at the venue. The venue is also close to several bus routes and Bristol Parkway train station.
The first two videos in the series are available to watch on the South Glos Parent Carers website
- Part 1: Understanding the psychology behind Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) and the approaches taken to meet EBSA needs.
- Part 2: A joined up approach between schools and parents/carers
