Join the C&O Canal Trust for our very first Canal Community Days in Washington, DC at the Georgetown Visitor Center! Canal Community Days is our annual public volunteer program that brings people into the park for beautification and trash removal projects all along the 184.5 miles of the towpath from Georgetown, Washington, D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland. It supports preservation, conservation, maintenance, and beautification efforts, and enhances the recreational and interpretive experiences of millions of visitors from around the world each year. Spend the morning making a visible impact in the park as we work together to paint park structures, remove invasive plants, and clean up trash. Pre-registration (free) is required.
