Can We Talk? Listening Session for Retired and Dormant Black Birthworkers

There was a time you were actively supporting families—on call, holding space, and doing the work. And at some point, you stepped away.

“Can We Talk?” is a listening session created for Black birthworkers who are no longer actively serving clients. This space is designed to reflect on those experiences, explore the realities of burnout, and better understand what support was missing.

This is not a training or recruitment event.
This is a space to be heard.

We are inviting Black birthworkers who:

• Have completed a birthworker training (certification not required)
• Have supported at least 5 families
• Have not served a client in 3+ years

Two session options are available:

• Virtual session
• In-person session (Cincinnati)

Participants will receive a gift card for their time.

Whether or not you return to birthwork, your experience matters. Join us in shaping a more sustainable future for Black birthworkers.
