Following the release of her sophomore album, Calla, a modern operatic folk bass sensation, will be performing her second ever show in Tāmaki Makaurau. Accompanied by the synth bass, double bass player, and drummer, Sam Healey, Calla will captivate your senses with her unique blend of vocal and violin looping, intricately woven with complex electronic production. Opening the evening is Cecil Turbine, a solo music project blending Post-rock dynamics, ambient spaciousness, and modern classical minimalism. With micro samples, loops, and a fusion of processed bass guitar, strings, drum machines, and vocals, Cecil Turbine's sound is akin to James Blake meeting Sigur Rós. Notable works include soundscapes for prestigious exhibits and dance companies, as well as successful tours across New Zealand and performances at Australian boutique festivals.
