CA Tree School in Humboldt is a unique opportunity for you to get answers to the forestry, fire, and natural resource questions at the top of your mind. This pop-up mini college is for all members of the community who love trees!
Throughout the day, attendees will take 4 classes led by UC ANR academics and connect with fellow forestry enthusiasts. There is something for everyone at CA Tree School:
- Do you like walking through redwood forests? Learn more about how fire has shaped these trees with the "Fire Ecology of Redwood Forests" lecture, led by a UC ANR Forest Advisor.
- Interested in forest flora beyond trees? Explore fungi with "Forest Mushroom Identification", a class led by College of the Redwoods faculty.
- Fascinated by the concept of 'good fire'? Take a hands-on "Using Prescribed Fire" class, led by local Prescribed Burn Association leaders.
- Are you an aspiring woodworker? Join UC Berkeley professors for a "DIY Mass Timber Panel" workshop.
Please note that this is NOT a free event. Registration is $70, with partial scholarships available. Register and pay on the UC ANR website.
