BASIC RULES OF THE CABARET POETRY SLAM:
Perform your own poetry.
NO costumes or props allowed.
Three rounds. (3 minute limit)
Order chosen at random. Five Judges also chosen at random from audience for first round. During the second and third round the whole audience votes.
1st Round- All poets perform in (3 minute limit)
2nd Round- 4 poets perform (randomly chosen pairs)
3rd Round- 2 Poets go head to head.
WHAT IS A SLAM?
A poetry slam is a competition that blends art and performance. It combines the power of poetic expression, live performance, and the thrill of competition.
Participants must perform an original poetic text within a time limit (usually 3 minutes). The judges, chosen at random, will evaluate both the poetry and the performance. The winner is the performer who receives the most votes.
Because the outcome is decided by the audience, anything can happen during a slam. A newcomer can outperform an established poet, and someone shy but heartfelt might beat a dynamic performer.
A slam is a tournament of live words and intense emotions — poetry that speaks to both heart and mind. It’s no surprise that slam, which arrived in Poland in 2003 from the U.S. via the UK, has become increasingly popular and firmly rooted in the local cultural scene.
*** REGULATIONS OF THE WARSAW QUALIFIERS ***
FOR THE 10TH NATIONAL POETRY SLAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
These regulations define the common rules for all slam tournaments held during the Warsaw qualifiers for the 10th National Poetry Slam Championships (hereinafter referred to as the Polish Championships), the final of which will take place in Poznań on August 7–8, 2026.
The coordinator of the Warsaw qualifiers is the Slam Foundation.
The organizers of the qualifying slams include informal poetry groups such as Poetry in Warsaw and Cabaret Poetry Slam, as well as other Warsaw-based entities.
The organizers are responsible for organizing and conducting the tournament. They determine the rules of each tournament, which may vary, except for those described in point 13.
Individuals who sign up for the qualifying slams and are registered on participant lists by the organizers or hosts may take part in the Warsaw qualifying tournaments.
Hosts of the qualifying slams are not allowed to participate in the qualifiers.
As part of the Warsaw qualifiers, 4 individuals with the highest number of points will be selected. Those in 1st and 2nd place will advance to the main tournament of the Polish Championships. Those in 3rd and 4th place will represent Warsaw in the “last chance” qualifiers, where it is still possible to advance to the main tournament.
Scoring during the qualifying slams:
1st place – 6 points
2nd place – 4 points
3rd and 4th place – 3 points
Participation without advancing past the first round – 1 point
In the event of a tie in the final standings, a tiebreak round will be held. It will take place after the final tournament during the same event. Participants in the tiebreak will have 1 minute for their performance. Absence will result in forfeiture.
If participants eligible for the tiebreak are absent, the final ranking will be determined by a random draw.
As part of the Warsaw qualifiers, 6 qualifying slams will be held. The dates and locations of these tournaments must be announced publicly at least 14 days in advance via the media channels of the Slam Foundation, Poetry in Warsaw, and co-organizers.
Registration for qualifying slams begins when the event is announced by the organizer on Facebook. Registration rules are set by the organizer.
Basic rules of the qualifying tournament:
only original texts may be performed;
the winner is chosen by the audience, and the voting method is determined by the organizer or host;
the use of props, costumes, instruments, or musical backing tracks is prohibited;
using written text (notes) is allowed.

Rules not specified in these regulations will be determined in agreement with the organizers and the coordinator and may result in amendments to the regulations.

Na Puchar Warszawskiej Sceny musimy trochę się ogarnąć... no, tak jakby – ale postarajmy się tym razem nie złamać wszystkich zasad. Prosimy o dokładne zapoznanie się z zasadami tego slamu.
Nie będzie randomowych ukulele, piłeczek pingpongowych w policzkach, "przypadkowych przebrań", jawnego oszukiwania, zmieniania wierszy i występowania dwa razy w jednej rundzie, spóźnionych poetów wskakujących na scenę w ostatniej chwili, ani niemowląt jako rekwizytów. x) Tak... trzeba było tam być, żeby to zrozumieć... Spokojnie, slam i tak będzie świetną zabawą!
Co to jest slam?
Slam poetycki to konkurencja z pogranicza sztuki i sportu. Łączy siłę poetyckiego przekazu, występ na scenie i emocje związane z rywalizacją. Zadaniem uczestników turnieju jest zaprezentowanie w określonym czasie (najczęściej są to 3 minuty) autorskiego tekstu poetyckiego. Jedynym jurorem oceniającym jednocześnie jakość poezji i występu jest publiczność. Wygrywa osoba, która zdobędzie najwięcej głosów widowni. Zdanie się na osąd widzów oznacza, że podczas slamu może wydarzyć się wszystko. Z uznanym poetą może wygrać debiutantka, ze znakomitym performerem ktoś, kto nieśmiało powie tekst, który chwyci widzów za serce. Slam to turniej żywego słowa i gorących emocji, czyli poezji, która działa na serca i umysły. Nic dziwnego, że slam, który dotarł w 2003 r. nad Wisłę i Odrę z USA przez Wielką Brytanię, staje się coraz bardziej popularny w naszym kraju, w którym zadomowił się na dobre.
*** REGULAMIN WARSZAWSKICH ELIMINACJI ***
DO 10. OGÓLNOPOLSKICH MISTRZOSTW SLAMU POETYCKIEGO
1. Regulamin określa wspólne zasady dla wszystkich turniejów slamowych podczas Warszawskich eliminacji do 10. Ogólnopolskich Mistrzostw Slamu Poetyckiego (nazywanych dalej mistrzostwami Polski), których finał odbędzie się w Poznaniu 7 i 8 sierpnia 2026 r.
2. Koordynatorem warszawskich eliminacji jest Fundacja Slamowa.
3. Organizatorami slamów eliminacyjnych są m.in. nieformalne grupy poetyckie Poezja w Warszawie i Cabaret Poetry Slam oraz inne warszawskie podmioty.
4. Organizatorzy odpowiadają za organizację i przeprowadzenie turnieju. Organizatorzy ustalają zasady przeprowadzenia turniejów, które mogą się różnić, poza opisanymi w pkt. 13.
5. W turniejach warszawskich eliminacji mogą brać udział osoby, które zgłoszą się na slamy eliminacyjne i zostaną zapisane na listach uczestników przez organizatorów lub prowadzących slamy.
6. Osoby prowadzące slamy eliminacyjne nie mogą brać udziału w eliminacjach.
7. W ramach warszawskich eliminacji zostaną wyłonione 4 osoby z najwyższą liczbą punktów. Osoby z miejsc od 1 do 2 awansują do głównego turnieju mistrzostw Polski. Osoby zajmujące miejsca od 3 do 4 będą reprezentowały Warszawę podczas eliminacji ostatniej szansy, w których można uzyskać awans do głównego turnieju.
8. Punktacja podczas slamów eliminacyjnych:
- zajęcie 1 miejsca – 6 punktów;
- zajęcie 2 miejsca – 4 punkty;
- zajęcie 3 i 4 miejsca – 3 punkty;
- udział w slamie bez wyjścia z pierwszego etapu – 1 punkt.
9. Jeśli w klasyfikacji końcowej dojdzie do remisu, to zostanie rozegrana dogrywka. Będzie miała ona miejsce po turnieju finałowym podczas tego samego wydarzenia. Osoby uczestniczące w dogrywce będą miały 1 minutę na swój występ. Brak obecności oznacza walkower.
10. W przypadku nieobecności osób klasyfikujących się do dogrywki, w celu ustalenia ostatecznej klasyfikacji zostanie przeprowadzone losowanie.
11. W ramach warszawskich eliminacji odbędzie się 6 slamów eliminacyjnych. Terminy i miejsca tych turniejów muszą być podane do publicznej wiadomości z co najmniej 14-dniowym wyprzedzeniem w mediach Fundacji Slamowej, Poezji w Warszawie i współorganizatorów slamów.
12. Zapisy na slamy eliminacyjne rozpoczynają się w chwili ogłoszenia slamu jako wydarzenia na portalu Facebook przez organizatora. Zasady zapisów określa organizator.
13. Podstawowe zasady turnieju eliminacyjnego:
- należy prezentować wyłącznie autorskie teksty;
- zwycięzcę wybiera publiczność, a formę głosowania ustala organizator lub prowadzący;
- nie wolno używać rekwizytów, kostiumów, instrumentów ani podkładów muzycznych;
- dozwolone jest używanie nośników tekstu.
14. Wszelkie uwagi dotyczące eliminacji oraz poszczególnych turniejów należy zgłaszać bezpośrednio do organizatorów lub koordynatora eliminacji pod adresem e-mail: [email protected].
15. Zasady nieokreślone w regulaminie warszawskich eliminacji będą ustalane w porozumieniu z organizatorami i koordynatorem eliminacji i mogą skutkować zmianami zapisów w regulaminie.
