Renowned maritime historian, Dr. Christophe Cérino, PhD, from the University of Southern Brittany and President of the Underwater Museum of the Pays de Lorient, will delve into the fascinating history of L'Isère. This frigate, crafted in 1866, played a pivotal role in transporting the Statue of Liberty, fondly known as "Lady Liberty," to New York. 5:30 to 9PM: COCKTAIL FETE DE LA BRETAGNE / FEST NOZ
Over the course of the cocktail, we'll be showcasing the richness of Breton culture by including both traditional elements - Breton song, biniou/bombarde - and contemporary aesthetics that are open to the world. The first group is 'TROVAN', a talented quintet based around the voice of singer Armel An Hejer, offering an original musical creation representing the richness of Breton musical traditions and focusing on travel and exile. The second group, SAOUT/JOUANNO, is a biniou/bombarde duo representing the new generation of traditional musicians in Brittany.
