BYTE exposes the female queer body as horror’s favorite monster. It invites you to watch drag thing COL-OSSAL dissect a familiar trope at the intersection of glamor and gore within artifacts of film media. Part performance, part live investigation asking: how has horror always known what to be afraid of?

Colleen is a theatremaker, director, and writer from the U.S. They graduated with a BA double concentration in Directing and Writing for the Stage from Marymount Manhattan College. In the past, they have directed shows at Dixon Place, The Tank, and Dramatists Guild Foundation in New York City. They have recently directed NONE OF THIS IS SIMPLE for Side/Step Festival, performed in and assistant produced SPIN AGA!N for Voila! Festival, associate produced Cyborphic Theatre Company’s Talos Science Fiction Theatre Festival, and debuted their drag thing ‘COL-OSSAL’ at the Museum of Comedy as part of Above Your Nerve’s Alternative Drag & Cabaret Showcase. Colleen is interested in making work that combines all of the nerdy things they love with the many facets of their personhood.
