When it comes to headline acts they don't get much bigger than Brendan Dempsey, both figuratively and literally! The giant of the comedy world tops a loaded night of live comedy this October at Plymouth's home grown comedy club along with two absolutely superb support acts.Brendan Dempsey will immediately be recognisable for his star turns in everything from Father Ted to Gangs Of New York. This globetrotting comic has plied his trade all across the world after making a name for himself in his native Ireland. Effortlessly funny, Brendan's laid back demeanour and easy going charm hides a razor sharp wit. With a multitude of tall tales and observations he'll make it a night to remember.
Local lass done good Suzy Bennett makes her much anticipated return to Plymouth Comedy club after a summer that's seen her take the world by storm. The delightful Ms B has sold out shows at the Barbican, raising the roof in clubs across the country and making quite the name for herself at all the best festivals. A brilliant, original voice that's proud to fly the Janner flag.
A truly international line up is rounded out by El Purnell, a man whose origins are shrouded in mystery. Described by his UK agent simply as "El comediante número uno del Ecuador." , Senor Purnell calls himself "El Jefe De La Risa." and guarantees that he will be both "Muy divertido" and "Increíblemente guapo."
Resident host and compere Chris Brooker takes the reigns once again on 17th October. Fresh back from an August spent at the Edinburgh festival with his new solo show 'Out Of Nowhere' Chris is in both great artistic form and heavy financial debt. He may want to talk to you about an opportunity to make full time wages by working part time hours from home. Do not listen to him. Do not sign anything.
