'Botanical Terrarium' Embroidery Workshop at Leighton House, London.

A fun and relaxed hands-on embroidery workshop that covers how to sew the perfect embroidery hoop to take home and keep. Join us on Saturday 4th July for a Botanical Terrarium Embroidery Workshop at Leighton House in Holland Park where we invite you to step into the enchanting world of Victorian artistry at Leighton House, the former home and studio of the celebrated Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton and the perfect place to truly immerse yourself as you stitch your own beautiful Botanical Terrarium.

With all materials and tuition provided, practising textile artist and embroiderer, Katy Horwood, will guide you through creating your own exquisite Botanical Terrarium embroidery - all you need to bring is your imagination.

Workshop includes:

• 3 hours of relaxed, friendly embroidery tuition in the Leighton House Learning Center, including starting your piece, learning a range of stitches and embellishment techniques, blending threads, and finishing your work.
• All materials: embroidery hoop and fabric, DMC threads, beads and sequins, detailed instructions and stitch booklet.
• Your very own Botanical Terrarium Embroidery to take home and treasure.
• Complimentary Tea & Coffee
• Free Entry to the Leighton House

Stitches you'll learn include: Satin Stitch, French Knot, Bullion Stitch, Cast-On Stitch, Chain Stitch, and Whipped Back Stitch. The workshop offers something for every level - from accessible stitches for beginners to more advanced techniques to challenge and inspire All abilities welcome — this pattern is thoughtfully designed with a mix of stitches suitable for beginners through to intermediate/advanced embroiderers.

• The workshop will take place in the Learning Centre at Leighton House.
• The ticket price includes entry to Leighton House on the day (historic house and exhibition). Please note that the museum opens at 10am and closes at 5:30pm (last entry 4:30pm)

• There is a cafe onsite to purchase a variety of sandwiches, bakes and hot and cold drinks
