About this Event
This event is based on an ongoing IEF funded project. It involves co-creating a conversational, rule based AI chatbot jointly with final year undergraduate students using Google Dialogflow ES (essential).
Rule based chatbots have been used in the context of higher education. However, the focus has been on student recruitment and admission process. Less attention has been paid to learning and teaching activities, in particular, assessment support. The uniqueness of the project also stems from the user-friendly design of the platform (eg Google Dialogflow ES) and its accessibility to individuals without specialized AI knowledge and coding skills.
Through attending the session, attendees will have an opportunity to learn:
- Briefly how Google Dialogflow ES works
- The theoretical foundation
- The benefits of such a chatbot to staff and students
- The challenges experienced
- The recommendations
