Site description:
Railway Fields Nature Reserve is in the heart of Harringay, North London, where it offers a piece of tranquillity away from busy Green Lanes. This former disused railway goods yard now boasts a Green Flag award for environmental quality. Among the habitats found here is woodland, scrub, meadow, pond and marshland. Lush vegetation blocks out noise from surrounding streets, and 21 kinds of butterfly have been recorded as well as more than 60 species of birds.
