"Always a Part of the Land" explores how the cultivation of a nationalist narrative has shaped Canadaโs federal relationship with Indigenous Peoples.
Cody Groat is an assistant professor in the Department of History and the Indigenous Studies Program at the University of Western Ontario. He is a Kanyenโkehaka (Mohawk) citizen of Six Nations of the Grand River.
