About this Event
Shout out to all women aged 30 and above, as well as gender minority skaters, residing in London, Sussex, and the neighbouring regions! Join us for a day of skateboarding, followed by a visit to the exhibition.
We’ll meet in the morning at Skate Hub for a 2-hour private session, with the brilliant Sarah from @yellowhatskateschool along to give everyone some tips.
From there we’ll refuel over lunch (food is not included, but we’ll have a private area booked for our crew) at Vauxhall Market Place Food Hall.
In the afternoon we’ll head to the Southbank Centre for the Skate 50 exhibition.
This event is suitable for all skill levels from beginners to advanced, although most of us are novices! We just ask that you bring your own kit (or hire some) and can confidently stand and push on a board.
THE PLAN:
Meet near Vauxhall Station for 10:00am. A quick 'coffee and croissant' stop at Ōsōji Coffee, then onto our first destination.
STOP 1: SKATE HUB LONDON - 11am-1pm
Skate Hub London is a skate space developed with learning and professionalism in mind, each ramp and obstacle is designed with an "easy to learn, hard to master" approach, ensuring that it is welcoming for beginners but challenging enough to hone your skills for years to come.

Here we will be joined by skate instructor Sarah from @yellowhatskateschool. Sarah is a skater, surfer and snowboarder in her 30s, who has followed her passion for skating by starting up her own skate school in London. She hopes to be able to encourage and inspire other girls and women to take up skating, and to spread the joy of skating to as many people from different backgrounds as possible.

LUNCH STOP - VAUXHALL FOOD MARKET: Lunch is not included in the ticket price but we will have a private space booked at Vauxhall Market Place Food Hall to grab a bite and a drink before heading to our next stop.
STOP 2: THE GALLERY - Southbank Centre
After a fun-filled skate session and a quick pit stop for lunch to refuel we'll then head over to Waterloo.
- 'See an exhibition telling the story of London’s original skate space over the past half century, through photography, audio and video.'
'As well as being the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary, 2026 marks around 50 years since London skateboarders first adopted the concrete space under the Queen Elizabeth Hall as their own.
Since then, what is now known as the Undercroft Skate Space has become a cornerstone of UK skate culture – and a living, breathing monument to the creativity and DIY-spirit of skateboarders from all over the world.
To tell its story, we’ve worked with active members of the Southbank skate community to identify key events, figures and moments that have shaped this iconic space.
Skate 50 features contributions from film-makers Winstan Whitter, Dan Magee, Lev Tanju, Jack Brooks and the Keep Rolling Project, as well as sound artist Beatrice Dillon and animator Sofia Negri.'

END OF DAY:
At the end of the exhibition (for anyone still going!) we'll head out and grab a quick drink before heading back home.
