Join the Bull City Sigmas of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the Zetas of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for a powerful weekend of fellowship, celebration, and community as we honor Juneteenth and the legacy of freedom.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, making it one of the oldest celebrations of emancipation and Black independence in the United States.
Throughout the weekend, we will celebrate Black culture, unity, and community impact through a series of events bringing together Divine Nine members, alumni, community leaders, and friends from across the region. This event is for all non-Greeks and Greeks. We want the entire community to come out.
For this year's service project, we are supporting the Durham Senior Life Center with donations. We are collecting donations to purchase personal care items and the donation of personal care items such as:
Toothpaste and toothbrushes
Soap or body wash
Lotion (important for dry skin)
Deodorant
Shampoo/conditioner
Blankets or throws
Warm socks
Pill organizers
Hand sanitizer
Wet wipes

Featuring Pop the Balloon for Love – D9 Edition
🔹 Friday (6/19) – Freedom White Party
Celebrate Juneteenth in style with music, fellowship, and a night dedicated to freedom and excellence.
🔹 Saturday (6/20) – Blue & White Cookout
A community cookout with food, fellowship, vendors, and great vibes.
🔹 Sunday (6/21) – Gospel & RnB Karaoke
Close the weekend with music, soul, and celebration.
Juneteenth celebrations have historically included community gatherings, cookouts, music, and faith traditions, all centered around remembering freedom and strengthening community bonds.
This weekend is more than an event—it’s a celebration of culture, legacy, and the continued pursuit of excellence in our community.
