Sean Mason, renowned for his innovative approach and versatile musical expression, has established himself as a prominent figure in jazz. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, he is celebrated for both his original compositions and his masterful interpretations that meld the intricacies of jazz with diverse musical elements, showcasing a remarkable breadth of style.Charlotte percussionist and music director Tim Scott Jr. is a talented local creative leader who has been the artist-in-residence at Charlotte Center City Partners and toured the world with Grammy Award-winning North Carolina group The Foreign Exchange and many other artists.
*About Black Notes Project*
Black Notes Project is a weekend music festival with the mission of celebrating and amplifying Black music and artistry through a diverse schedule of programming to engage the community. The second annual installment of the festival will feature three evening concerts, as well as two daytime concerts (including one family-friendly show featuring the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra).
This year’s theme is JAZZ and will bring artists like the Niels Lan Doky Experience, Trap Jazz, Sainted Trap Choir, Sean Mason, and special guests—including some local favorites.
