Black History Club at Adams Park Library

About This Event

The Black Achievement Fund invites you to a joyful, educational, and community‑building experience at Adams Park Library — The BAF Black History Club. This welcoming is for all‑ages, designed to bring families, youth, elders, and neighbors together to learn, share, and celebrate the brilliance of African and African American history.

Do you think it is time to reclaim the power of learning for our communities or will we continue allow learning to diminish and our future generations not be empowered?

This is our time to come together as a community and learn with each other. Let's explore and some may discover these stories for the first time or some may deepen what they already know. This club creates a space where knowledge becomes a bridge between generations and a spark for community pride.

What to Expect
  • Engaging lessons inspired by the Breaking Barriers African American Curriculum from Education for Life Academy.
  • Stories of great African Americans — both well‑known and unsung
  • 1 hour of your time and energy and it's every other week!
  • Hands‑on activities, discussions, and critical thinking for all ages
  • A warm, inclusive environment where everyone can learn at their own pace
  • Opportunities to connect, reflect, and build community through shared history

Why It Matters

Learning our history strengthens our communities.
It builds confidence in our youth, deepens understanding among adults, and preserves the legacy of those who paved the way. By exploring the lives, achievements, and contributions of African Americans — famous and lesser‑known — we honor our past while empowering our future.

This club is more than a meeting.
It’s a commitment to collective learning, cultural pride, and community uplift.

Who’s Invited

Everyone.
Families, children, teens, adults, and elders — all are welcome to join, learn, and grow with us.

Join Us

Come be part of a space where history comes alive, community comes together, and learning becomes a celebration of who we are.
