About this Event
Bird Woman Screening & Panel
Join us for a special evening of storytelling, innovation, and conversation featuring a live panel discussion with the creators, filmmakers, technologists, and special guests behind the award-winning AI video-generated series Bird Woman: Sacajawea, followed by an in-person screening.
Inspired by true events, Bird Woman reimagines Sacajawea as a Native guide and shape-shifting superheroine navigating survival, identity, and transformation during the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Before and after the screening, audience members will hear directly from the creative team about how emerging AI technologies are transforming independent filmmaking and historical storytelling.
The production combines human creativity with cutting-edge AI tools, including Runway, Midjourney, Morphic, Kling, Veo, Sora, and D-ID to enhance visuals, animate characters, upscale imagery, and create immersive cinematic experiences that would otherwise be difficult to achieve independently.
Panelists—including actors, filmmakers, editors, educators, and computer science innovators—will discuss:
- The future of AI-assisted filmmaking
- Ethical collaboration between artists and AI
- Native storytelling and historical authenticity
- Independent film innovation
- Interactive AI character chatbots and audience engagement
Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with AI-powered character chatbots from the series and ask questions about each character’s life and journey.
Following the initial discussion, attendees will enjoy a screening of the series and experience firsthand how AI and human creativity were combined to bring this cinematic adventure to life.
Don’t miss this unique evening exploring the intersection of film, technology, history, and imagination.
