Big Spring Cutback

As winter fades, The Battery gardens need a fresh start. Volunteers will work alongside our horticulture team to cut back leftover plant debris from last season, tidy garden beds, and help prepare the park for new growth. It’s a hands-on, satisfying way to welcome spring while caring for one of New York City’s most beloved public green spaces.

No gardening experience is necessary—just bring your energy, weather-appropriate clothing, and a love for the outdoors. We’ll provide tools, guidance, and plenty of fresh air.
