FAQ:
1. What should I bring?
Bring items that are clean, functional, and in good condition. We welcome clothes, books, shoes, kitchenware, toys, electronics, accessories, holiday decor, sportswear, and more. Festive party outfits are welcome too.
Please note that we cannot accept food, medicine, or underwear.
2. What can I take?
You don’t need to bring something in order to take something. That said, we encourage you to bring items you no longer use so the market stays full of good finds for everyone. Everything on the tables is free, and we ask that you only take what you truly need.
3. What should I do when I arrive?
You’ll see signs for different categories like kitchenware, toys, and electronics. Sort your items into the appropriate categories, either on your own or with the help of our volunteers.
4. What else can I do at the event besides swapping?
There will be brunch, Glühwein, and hot drinks available at KINK. Feel free to stroll around, enjoy the terrace, and warm up with something delicious while you hang out.
5. Can I sell my stuff at the event?
No. Everything on display tables is free to take. There is no exchange based on how much or how little you bring, or the relative value of the items. We recommend only taking what you truly need.
6. When’s the best time to come?
You’re welcome to arrive anytime. If you're bringing items, we recommend coming 30 mins before closing so they have a better chance of finding new homes.
If you arrive early and don’t see anything that interests you, feel free to take a short break and come back later. New items arrive throughout the day.
7. Is it a social event?
Yes. Please come say hi to Joyce (organiser) if you have any questions or just want to chat. People often connect over the stories behind their items, and many friendships have started at past swaps.
8. Is the space dog-friendly and baby-friendly?
We love dogs and little ones, but the swap can get quite busy and crowded. It may feel overwhelming for them, so we recommend leaving them outside at KINK’s outdoor area or at home for this event.
9. What happens to items left over after the event?
Any items left at the end will be donated to Systemfehler or Wühlischvierzig, or placed at the entrances of nearby apartment buildings for others to take. You’re also welcome to take back any items you brought.
