About this Event
The challenge
Most business leaders believe their communications are clear. Most employees disagree. And HR sits right in the middle of that gap. That gap becomes critical during times of change and transformation. When people don’t understand the story, they resist it, question it, or disengage.
This workshop is designed to fix that.
What this workshop does
In two hours, we help HR Directors and Managers shift from sharing information to shaping stories people believe in.
Using Berkeley’s storytelling model, participants learn how to turn complex change into something human, clear, and actionable.
Because facts inform, but stories move people.
Who it’s for
· HR Directors leading change
· HR Managers driving engagement and communication
· Leaders who need teams aligned during uncertainty
This is an open course, designed to give a shared foundation across teams.
What happens in the session
1. Why messages fail
We explore the HR story gap and where confusion starts.
2. The storytelling model
A practical framework to:
· A platform that brings a little bit of Hollywood to HR
· Put employees at the centre – the real heroes of your story
· Explain the “why” behind change
· Narrative structures
· Storytelling-in-action case studies
· Clarify what success looks like
3. Real HR scenarios
We apply storytelling to moments that matter, from restructures to leadership messaging.
4. Practical exercise
Participants reshape a typical HR message into a story they can use immediately and take back in to the business.
What participants take away
· A clear structure for storytelling in HR
· More confidence guiding leaders and managers
· Tools to make communication land
Most importantly, they can answer: “What does this mean for me?”
The impact
When HR leads with story, organisations see stronger engagement, faster adoption, and more confident leadership. That is the difference between people hearing change and believing in it.
