Learn how to build one of our iconic Iona or Islay benches in a half-day woodworking session! Firstly, you’ll be given a short tour of our South Street premises, being taken through the journey our reclaimed timber goes through, from sorting and ‘stickering’ to preparing for resale and reuse.Then, one of our woodworkers will guide you through the process of building your very own bench. From start to finish, they’ll demonstrate every step which goes into transforming a pile of reclaimed scaffold boards into a finished product. There’ll be a break for lunch half way and at the end you’ll be able to take the bench away with you*.
You’ll finish your bench with a clear stain, our most popular finish option which highlights all the character within the reclaimed wood whilst helping to prolong the life of the product.
The session begins at 10:00am and will finish at approximately 2:00-3:00pm.
*This won’t be on the day – we’ll arrange with you a later date to collect as the bench will need curing/drying time.
