Join us at The Insect Asylum this April as we celebrate International Beaver Day! 🦫✨

Dive into the fascinating world of beavers with an evening of professional presentations by and discussions with beaver experts, a dam-building competition, hands-on exhibits, and the screening of a brand new documentary- "Freelance Beaver Detective: Tracking Urban Wildlife."

Urban beaver experts from the community and thewill share their knowledge on beaver behavior, ecological importance, and how these industrious creatures are shaping urban waterways. Learn about Chicago’s own urban beaver populations, their role in wetland restoration, and the challenges they face in city environments.

Expect to get your brain active and your hands dirty with beaver discussions and activities. Our dam-building competiton will simulate the creation and maintenance of real beaver dams. You will also get the chance to explore beaver artifacts, skulls, and tracks up close! Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast or just curious about these fascinating rodents, you will leave with a newfound appreciation of nature’s original hydraulic engineers!

Tickets are a suggested donation of $25 but if you do not have the means to pay $25, you can make a donation of your choice at the door before the event or the day of the event.
