This is an open studio space for actor training led by George Olesky.
About this Event

Participants may use the sessions as a scene study for consecutive weeks, to work on Shakespeare monologues, or for audition prep of any kind, including, for instrance, this year’s graduate acting audition season. Actors can expect an intimate and rigorous setting to deepen their craft and love of the art of performance and obtain in-depth feedback on their work. Since enrollment is a drop-in basis, students can take the course for as many or few sessions as they like. The Gym also welcomes the development of self-scripted material and devised theater. Additionally, writers who wish to improve their dexterity with public reading and presenting their material are also welcome.

George Olesky is an actor, writer, memer, and educator based in Brooklyn. He has acted in 10 plays by Matthew Gasda since 2021. Further theater credits include Roundabout, Bedlam, Rattlestick, People's Light, Trinity Rep, SpeakEasy Stage, Epic Theater Ensemble, Dixon Place, Bay Street Theater, & A Noise Within. He has appeared in works for Netflix, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime, ABC, FOX, CBS, and Starz. He has been an Actor in Residence at Media Workshops + College in Rockport, ME since 2018. Olesky earned his MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep where he was a recipient of the 'Brown in the World Grant' for a performing arts research fellowship in Berlin. He premiered his solo work "Joan" in 2022 at the legendary Beckett's and is a founding member of the Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research.
