Washington, D.C. — Barracks Row Main Street is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated Mardi Gras Celebration on March 1st, 2025! Get ready to experience the vibrant energy of New Orleans right here in the heart of Capitol Hill as historic 8th Street SE transforms into a hub of lively festivities, delicious food, and unforgettable entertainment.

Event Highlights: Sidewalk Parades

Saturday, March 1st at 2:00 PM: Capitol Hill Community Parade featuring local organizations.

Saturday, March 1st at 5:00 PM: LED Parade showcasing glowing floats, live music, and beads galore.

Join us for spirited processions filled with fun, music, and Mardi Gras magic. Businesses and community organizations are invited to march alongside our festive floats to celebrate this exciting weekend.

Specials & Activities from Local Businesses

EAT: Indulge in food and drink specials at participating Barracks Row establishments.

SHOP: Explore unique Mardi Gras-themed goods and promotions from local shops.

PLAY: Engage in festive activities and events up and down 8th Street, including:

Mardi Gras Party & Concert at 507 8th Street SE: Saturday, March 1st at 7:00 PM.

6 pm-7 pm: Music by the second-line band

7 pm-10 pm: Main event: STARCRUSH – one of the leading high-energy pop/rock cover bands in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Entry: Open to all ages

$10 cover

The first 100 guests get free entry

Free entry for 12 and under

Drinks:

$6 beer & wine

$8 hurricanes

$10 mixed drinks

Open Bar $50/person

*Must be 21 and old with an ID to drink alcohol
