Join us for Baile an Cheoil, a special gig celebrating the incredible talent of Dublin's traditional musicians
This unique event brings together the talented performers who will light up The Annesley House on Friday, April 4th. On one stage, Séamas Hyland, Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáin, Wasman, Liam Lonergan and Aoife Nic Dhomhnaill will share their passion for Irish music through traditional melodies and songs, performed in both English and Irish.
Wasman, Warren McCarthy is a composer of contemporary songs and he has a very special way of singing traditional songs and ballads.
Baile an Cheoil is a bilingual gig featuring traditional music and songs, aiming to highlight and celebrate the great talent of musicians in the city. Liam and Aoife are producing an album this year. Seamas Hyland
Is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who focuses on both traditional and experimental music. He enjoys exploring the varied sonic capabilities of the button accordion and creating tonal landscapes using field recordings he collects. He enjoys collaborating and improvising with artists such as John Francis Flynn, Jennie Moran and Eimear Walshe and is particularly intrigued by the contrasting nature of traditional and contemporary music and how/if these can be presented together. He recently released his debut solo album ‘Maidin Domhnaigh’ and was nominated for 'Best Emerging Artist' at the 2025 RTÉ Folk Awards.
Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáin
is a Dublin-born musician and dancer with deep roots in Irish music spanning five generations. A renowned fiddle player and self-taught sean-nós dancer, she has crafted her own unique, traditional dance style, performing across Ireland, Europe, and Asia. She founded Ceol 's Cos, a school teaching music and dance to all ages, and has appeared on TG4 programs like Jig Gig and Cúl Stáitse. Recently, she toured with Camino an Cheoil and Preab Meadar, blending voice, fiddle, and dance in dynamic performances. Later this year, Caoimhe will represent Ireland at the World Expo in Japan before touring Denmark, China, and India, continuing to share her passion for Irish culture worldwide
Was Man ( Warren McCarthy)
Is the solo musical endeavour of Dublin singer-songwriter and guitarist, Warren McCarthy. Though this project is in its infancy, Warren is accomplished in the delivery of songs. With his band, Let's Set Sail, he has released music to strong acclaim and performed throughout the country.
Warren is currently finishing his first body of recorded solo work. In the meantime, it is his live performances that showcase his distinctive style of emotive songwriting and his unique delivery of traditional folk songs.
Aoife Nic Dhomhnaill & Liam Lonergan
Aoife and Liam have been steeped in the vibrant Dublin traditional music scene since their childhoods and have played together as a duet for over almost two decades. They grew up playing music with Ceoltóirí Chluain Tarbh and spent their summers travelling to traditional music festivals throughout the country, where they had exposure to different regional styles and tunes. They have recently recorded an album of fiddle and concertina music, which they will release in the coming months.
