This is a free, in-person musical performance hosted on March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM CST by Madison Public Library - Alicia Ashman Branch Library in Madison, WI. No registration necessary for this event. This performance will not be held virtually. The group will perform selections from their latest concert, and will follow with discussion/Q&A exploring the music’s meaning, its composers, and the cultural and historical context behind each piece.
Bold, brilliant, and unmistakably unique, the University of Wisconsin–Madison Horn Choir is an elite ensemble of French horn majors led by Horn Professor Dan Grabois. Known for their dynamic sound and high-caliber musicianship, these students receive intensive ensemble training, including rotating part assignments that mirror the demands of top professional ensembles. The group will perform selections from their latest concert, and will follow with discussion/Q&A exploring the music’s meaning, its composers, and the cultural and historical context behind each piece.
The ensemble regularly performs at regional and national music conventions, horn workshops, and special events — bringing a fresh, powerful energy to every performance. Program details can be provided in advance upon request.
