About this Event

Have you ever felt excited about gardening—and immediately overwhelmed?

This class is built specifically for beginners who want to grow food but need structure, clarity, and guidance.

Jason Kamp (@jasonthebackyardfarmer on Instagram), professional market farmer and avid home gardener, walks participants through the 10 foundational questions that shape every successful home garden, from motivation and design to planting, maintenance, and harvest.

Through lecture, demonstration, and guided participation, attendees actively create an actionable garden plan.  The goal is simple: help you start growing food at home in a way that fits your life and actually works!

In this class, you’ll learn how to:

  • Clarify why you want a garden—and what success looks like for you
  • Choose the right location and garden type for your space
  • Create a simple, realistic garden plan
  • Know what tools and supplies are actually worth buying
  • Build healthy, living soil using practical methods
