About this Event
Heading back to school can be exciting, but it can also bring up worries, fears, and “what ifs.” In this playful and supportive improv workshop, kids will learn how to stay present, catastrophize less, and connect more confidently with their peers, all through the power of improv and play.
Using improv techniques, kids will:
- Practice mindfulness through fun, in-the-moment games
- Build social confidence and connection in a low-pressure environment
- Learn tools to manage anxious thoughts and feelings as they return to school
This workshop is designed for kids who are feeling a little nervous about the school year ahead—and could use a boost of self-trust, joy, and connection.
No improv or acting experience needed, just a willingness to play
Please note: Every child is different. While we aim to group ages together based on their emotional development and maturity, we understand if your student may fit better in a different age group.
This workshop will be taught by drama therapist Sydney Overton and youth improv instructor John Gerhardt.
