About this Event

Back Country Boys Band

The Back Country Boys, a dynamic country rock band, based in Southwest Florida has been performing locally and nationally for nearly 4 years.

In the spring of 2020 when Covid forced so many students out of the classrooms Michael Joyce and Brayden Reites decided to make effective use of their time. Lead singer and frontman Michael was seventeen and fresh off an all-state junior season at quarterback while drumming prodigy, Brayden was just fifteen in his shortened freshman baseball season at Saint John Neumann High School in Southwest Florida. They began playing music together in Reites’ Father’s workshop. That summer they played everywhere and with everyone they could. This continued throughout the next school year.

Upon graduation, Joyce decided to forgo offers to play college football and pursue his dreams of a music career with his bandmates. Summer tours have included performances throughout the South and Midwest. Now Joyce is twenty-one and Reites is eighteen and with other young band members have gained musical experiences beyond their ages. Together they have played more than 250 shows, appearing multiple times on iconic stages including Chicago’s Joes on W**d. Fort Myers’ The Ranch and Nashville’s The Dawghouse, to name a few. They have shared stages in supporting performances for Jake Owen, Chris Janson, Eli Young Band, Ian Munsik and more. Other current members of the band include Matt Byrne (Bass and Vocals), Brendan McCormack (Guitar, Banjo and Vocals) and Vinny Cilli (Lead Guitar). The band released their first 3 original songs(Magnolia, Kissed You In The Rian, and Pack your Boots) prior to their summer tour. Their Summer tour started with 3 appearances on stages at The Barfoot Country Music Festival in Wildwood, New Jersey including being selected to play the Official After Party following Friday Night’s headliner Keith Urban. Running through August 3rd, the rest of the tour includes stops in Florida, Illinois and Michigan.Friday, July 26, 2024.
