Join UCSF’s Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center for an engaging evening celebrating _Finding the Right Words: A Story of Literature, Grief, and the Brain_. This creative collaboration between Bruce Miller, MD, Director of the Fein Memory and Aging Center, and Cindy Weinstein, PhD, Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health and Professor of English at CalTech, explores the intersections of neuroscience, literature, and personal experience.
The book intertwines Weinstein’s personal narrative of her father’s illness with insights into the science of neurodegenerative diseases, provided by Dr. Bruce Miller. Together, they explore the emotional and neurological complexities of Alzheimer’s disease and primary progressive aphasia (PPA), offering both personal and professional perspectives.
The event will feature live readings, a conversation with the authors, and a book giveaway and signing.
