Author/Editor Professional Speed Dating
Networking - speed dating style! Enjoy an evening of quick conversation designed to connect emerging to mid-career writers and editors. The evening will start with a brief intro to the different types of editing and an overview of what it’s like to work with an editor. After this introduction authors and editors will be paired up so authors can discuss their projects. At the end of the event, authors can exchange contact information with editors they’d like to work with.
Meet your host:
Marina Martinez (she/her) is a developmental and line editor who specializes in graphic novels and genre fiction, specifically sci-fi/fantasy and romance. She completed the professional Certificate in Editing from University of Washington and holds a BA in Animation/Illustration from San Jose State University. She is also the Director of Panel Programming and Special Events at GeekGirlCon in Seattle, WA. In her spare time you can find her learning k-pop dances, practicing piano, and trying to catch up on One Piece.
