Director/Screenwriter: Kim Da-min

Starring: Park Na-eun, Park Hyo-ju, Kim Hie-won

Film Source: Finecut

SYNOPSIS:

Dong-chun is an elementary school student overwhelmed with tutoring and afterschool activities. When she stumbles upon a mysterious bottle of rice wine that emits strange sounds like Morse code, she sets out to unravel its identity and discovers the secrets of the world.

It’s no secret that excessive academic demands can take a toll on children’s mental health. Kim Da-min’s moving and whimsical coming-of-age tale criticizes the rise of predatory private education institutions with a unique sci-fi fantasy twist. Empathetic and charming, this offbeat crowd-pleaser about self-discovery and letting kids be kids will delight and inspire viewers of all ages.
