About this Event
Ayesha Singh presents a site-specific installation at the historic Mayla Bagh Jhalra, one of Jodhpur’s lesser-known 18th-century stepwells commissioned by Gulab Rai, a royal consort in 1722. Building on Singh’s broader research engagement with 13 stepwells across India commissioned by women, this sculptural intervention, created with Jodhpur’s metal specialists, Mayank Kularia and his father Kuldeep Kularia, the work explores architecture, memory, and public space, foregrounding the overlooked role of women who have shaped the city’s water systems.
