About this Event
Join us for an artist talk with Tia Brady, a printmaker and educator based in Maui, Hawaiʻi.
In this talk, Tia will share her journey of building a sustainable creative life through printmaking. She will discuss her transition from full-time retail management to self-employment, including the process of transforming a shipping container into a print studio and developing multiple income streams to support her artistic practice.
Tia will also reflect on her role as print studio manager at the historic Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center, the importance of community-focused arts spaces, and how printmaking can support and connect communities. Her work includes a mobile printmaking practice that brings printmaking into public spaces and encourages creative participation.
Drawing on her experience as the social media manager for Print Day in May, Tia will also share insights into content creation and planning for artists, before discussing her own artistic process and the cultural influences of Hawaiʻi on her work.
