About this Event

Taking place four times a year, our artist brunches are an opportunity to get feedback on your work, while digesting food and ideas in a supportive environment. Exploring rest, as we emerge from Turf’s Fallow Feb period of rest, into our latest show , Lateisha will lead us through conversations and light activities which explore how we find rest and sustainability in our creative practices.

Our co-director Rosie Crane Eckmire will be joined by Lateisha Davine Lovelace-Hanson who will curate a brunch menu. This will be shared a week before the event. You’re also welcome to bring your own snacks. Tea and coffee will be provided and dietary needs accommodated. Sessions will include the opportunity to get to know one another as well as sharing your work.

Participants will only be able to show work once per year. To ensure dietary needs are accommodated there will be no drop-in spaces available. If you need support with signing up, please get in touch or drop-by Turf and we can book you in!

Spots will be limited to 8 bookable spaces per session, with 3 artists sharing work.

This event is part of Tending, Turf's spring programme, growing from seeds planted during At the Meadow’s Edge. Tending returns to the question of how we notice, care and be in kinship with each other and our environment.

ABOUT TURF:

Founded in 2013 by Croydon locals, Turf is Croydon’s homegrown artist space and the first entirely artist-run contemporary art space in the borough. Based in Croydon’s Whitgift Shopping Centre, we put on free exhibitions 7 workshops, provide affordable artist studios, run a free creative project space for locals & host a number of other local creative organisations and collectives. A registered charity, Turf aims to provide paid opportunities for artists and creatives who might otherwise be undersupported.

A request from the Turf team - if you book, please turn up!

Around 30% of people booking free tickets don't attend. As a charity, we aim to support people who need creative opportunities the most and our free tickets are limited and in high demand. Every person who doesn’t turn up means someone else can’t attend, so please let us know if you can’t make it to free up a space. If you don’t attend twice or more without letting us know, you may be restricted from booking again.
