About this Event
While this is a donation-based event, we want as much of our proceeds as possible to go towards our fundraiser, and ask that you when you register for this magical event!
For the past three years, The Wild Ride Collective has hosted Artemis Packs in different locations in Philly and supported a niche, but so needed, movement to empower our next generations of humans to feel their power and carefully craft the world they grow up in. Artemis Pack is an after school and summer program that invites magical youth ages 6-16ish into a queer sanctuary to explore their relationship to the Earth, uncover the magic-makers from their ancestry, self-determine their most authentic gender expression, and most of all, stay their true, wild, weirdo selves through their journeys. One of the most special parts of our program is that kids join a pack when they're young and stay together over the years, and receive a special rites of passage/Coming of Age ceremony when they feel ready to mark their shift into young adulthood!
It's been a brutally challenging year on so many levels, and we want to bring out as many folks as possible to invoke some pure queer magic and trans joy in celebration of all we conjure through Artemis Packs, and raise the funds we need to make it through the rest of the school year while we're at it! This event is open to all ages, and we hope to see you on the dancefloor for our fave tradition of multigenerational dance parties !
We will have the honor of screening Selina Morales' (Artemis Pack Parent!) short film, Daughter of the Sea and hear from her as well as other Artemis Pack members about magical entities they've uncovered from their ancestries. We'll have kid art for sale/auction, some lite refreshements for sale, and an EPIC dance party following the screening! There will be LINE DANCING!
