Join us and discover the power and beauty of yantras! A yantra is a sacred geometric design used for meditation, focus, and energy alignment. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore these ancient designs and draw your own yantra, step by step. The process of drawing a yantra is a practice in itself. One can visualize an energy or support that one wants to bring more strongly into their life. Drawing the yantra while also doing a mantra that is associated with the deity of the yantra, can infuse the yantra with the energy that both the yantra and the mantra represent. And the yantra can continue to have a positive effect, indefinitely, if it is used.
Pictures of the yantras of the nine planets and of Ganesh, Laxmi, Saraswati, Durga, Kali, and the Ten Wisdom Goddesses (MahaVidyas) will be available for you to view so you can choose your favorite yantra to draw.
In our class, we will go step by step through the construction (or drawing) of a yantra, and you will be able to apply the knowledge from this workshop to creating more yantras on your own as you please. In the afternoon, you will be coloring your yantra with paint, colored pencils, markers, etc. Feel free to bring your favorite coloring medium with you, but there will also be plenty of supplies available.
Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own paints, watercolors, etc if they want to ensure they have the same materials to finish their yantra at home.
